Departing

Departing is simply another word for what is commonly called "Living Funerals". But this title is inaccurate since this is not at all a funeral - it is a gathering of folks to say goodbye to those who know their time is near. The funeral logically comes after their death and diffusion into the cosmos.
It is a wonderful option to have this event prior to moving to a hospice, for those who decide that such a move is best. It brings closure, comfort, and a good memory to be left with of the person after their departure. There are many ways to approach such an event and can easily be customized to the Departer's preference.
One option is a guest book that all guests can sign, and note any thoughts during the event. This can be read and re-read by the Departer until their full departure. The Departer can also write a message to each of the guests in the guest book which then can be read out at the burial.
